Systems Change Studio Visas

Welcome to the first 13 Systems Change Studio Residency VISA positions, this residency is for systems change projects that have the scope to solve the problem they are seeking to address at scale, and have the capacity to release the knowledge into a tool that can be used for all of humanity for free, forever.

The model of the studio is to start with one outstanding organisation, idea, person and then to fuse 5 unlikely connections to make a system wide nucleus stack for the work, the 12 month residency is formed as a campaign through the making of a hoodie podcast, we then shape the 12 month accelerator action that will happen during the residency.

The making of a Hoodie Podcast is our ceremony in, it’s how we start with big story first, leave space for emergence, fuse the hoodie economics into the project, and stack unlikely connections to give it the best chance to channel the widest range of potential intelligence.

“The Sea The Weed Systems Change project was incubated via the Making of a Hoodie Podcast, it led us to creating one of the world’s first ever seaweed hoodies and the first one that is fully compostable, and then we found Operation Crayweed and committed to raise 1M to help them reforest Sydney’s coastline including 15+ beaches. The Hoodie didn’t raise enough $ on it’s own and because the tech hasn’t been scaled and it’s actually really expensive when you cost all the real elements into making clothing we have been adapting the $$ raise by creating a shareholders of the ocean experience for 20 Sydney based organisations to contribute 5K a year for 10 years to spend time in the ocean and be in relation with Indigenous systems thinkers and the underwater forest. We are hopeful that in 2024 we can complete the 1M raise, redirect the attention and time of organisations to the intelligence of nature and in this case the underwater forests in our ocean and then graduate the Sea The Weed ecosystem into a tool, which can then be picked up by ocean leaders around the world.”

The core group of UNCx5 fused during MOAH will all receive a VISA and that will be your home base team inside IMAGI-NATION.

The Systems Change Studio Residency VISA experience includes an intensive immersive experience week in Australia to be profiled on The Professors TV series (first season being made in 2024), showcasing systems change leaders. And a week where an IMAGI-NATION mentor will be ‘in embassy’ with you where you are located. 

As part of the Professors experience we’ll be able to develop tools including:

1. Dreams experience where you return to your Primary school and add to the ongoing research project to unlock 1M young people’s dreams 10 year documentary (example)
2. IMAGI-NATION Showcase – we’ll work with you to deliver the showcase narrative around the work you are doing and turn it into a full world – here’s example of IMAGI-NATION Showcase #1 featuring AIME CEO & Founder Jack Manning Bancroft introducing IMAGI-NATION to the world
3. A focused Professors Song with one of our puppets

The Residents gather once every 2 months online for the Systems Change Studio sessions to share plans, ideas, relations and gather mentoring knowledge from guest mentors.

Once a month 2 Systems Change Studio Residents will have 5 minutes each to present on the Nation Stage as part of the monthly Club of Unlikely Connections.

After the 12 months if the Systems Change Studio VISA holders have completed their campaigns and projects, then IMAGI-NATION offers the following ceremony out. 

The Making of a Puppet Podcast, where we then create the space to make an IMAGI-NATION Professor based on your work to become a knowledge holder carrier, and spokesperson for your work for the life of IMAGI-NATION and beyond. We then make a real Professor to join the IMAGI-NATION troupe and work with you and your network to puppeteer and bring to life the Professor in an ongoing research program.

Following the Making of a Puppet Podcast, we in parallel to birthing the Professor fuse the work and the podcast into a Song to birth the Professor. Annually we will release into IMAGI-NATION and beyond the Album of IMAGI-NATION for that year featuring the songs of the Professors, film clips and songs, one small note in a very long song line of life.

The Systems Change Studio VISA is for a 12 month term, with a graduate position to become a mentor in residence in the IMAGI-NATION Moon and support the governance, action, change afoot on planet earth throughout the 9 year lifecycle of IMAGI-NATION. 

The Systems Change Studio experience over the 12 month VISA duration is as following:

• October-December: Apply for VISA. If successful, commence the Making of a Hoodie Podcast.
• December: final VISAS granted – Official VISA created electronically
• January 26th 2024: The IMAGI-NATION Platform will open with the first Club of Unlikely Connections for Custodian VISA, Systems Change Studio Residents VISAs, ToolShed VISAs, and Knowledge VISAs and orientation for your unlikely core group of 5 will commence. 
• January-December:
  • IMAGI-NATION Embassy visits to your locations
  • Australia Professors Residency

Once a month Custodians will gather via the Nation Stage for a Unlikely Connections session on strategy, relations, knowledge, energy. 

Once a week Custodians are invited to IMAGI-NATION weekly as a way to connect and zoom back out together.

UNCx5 home groups are available all year round.
