How do you take on global inequity?

Back in 2014, AIME was having real success as a mentoring organisation tackling one of Australia’s most intractable problems:closing the education gap for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander kids and seeing them complete high school at the same rate as other Australian kids. Why would a growing non-profit organisation – that seemed to be going from strength to strength with a huge base of support behind them – risk everything in an attempt to take its  mentoring model to kids outside the margins around the world?

7 Down tells the story of AIME, an Indigenous-led organisation, going global from the point of view of 7 people who have been an integral part of the highs, the lows, the confusion, the excitement, the failure and the learnings of a 7-year journey to try and change the world.

Do you believe that one idea can change the world?? We do!

Back in 2014, AIME was having real success as a mentoring organisation tackling one of Australia’s most intractable problems: closing the education gap for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander kids and seeing them complete high school at the same rate as other Australian kids. We were a growing Indigenous-led organisation, we were going from strength to strength, we had a huge support base behind us.

And then we risked everything to take our mentoring model to kids outside the margins around the world. Join us on 20 October to discover why.

7 Down tells our story of going global from the point of view of 7 people who have been an integral part of the highs, the lows, the confusion, the excitement, the failure and the learnings of our 7-year journey to try and change the world. It’s the story of the fight for the good in us, for the hope in us, for the action in us, for the possibility in us, and ultimately for the “us” in us.

The story isn’t over. We continue to search for avenues to enable everyday citizens to become mentors and bring to life the vision of a fairer learning experience for all kids, to tackle educational inequity the world over.

Be part of the next chapter! Host a screening to uncover the insights of 7 Down and inspire your family, friends and networks.
